URGENT: Boxers in Immediate Need
Most of the boxers in this section are at animal shelters which have a policy requiring them to euthanize dogs
which do not find homes quickly. Some dogs may only have a day or two, others might be held for a week or more,
depending on how full the shelter is. Please do not complain to shelters about this policy! The problem is not with
shelters, it is with irresponsible owners who do not properly care for their pets, others who breed them while there
are over 5 million homeless pets euthanized each year, and others who encourage this by purchasing dogs from
backyard breeders or puppy mills instead of rescuing them. Thank you for considering rescuing a boxer!

Boxer in Need: Buster is a Boxer/Shepherd mix about 3-4 years old. He is good on a leash, and is very gentle. He is a cute boy who likes hugs and kisses. He weighs approximately 70 pounds and loves attention. Buster is sponosred and that has lowered his adoption fee. Please come by and meet him today! Visit Oconee County Animal Control at: 1171 Branch Road, Bishop, Georgia 30621, or call Catlyn or Susan at (706) 769-3956. Please mention that Boxertown referred you when calling.

Boxer Emergency ... PLEASE HELP!

URGENT - Boxer Alert!!!
This dog will be euthanized if not adopted by the next few days .

Other Boxers Looking for Homes (not urgent)

Boxer in Need: My girlfriend and I have come to the realization that we are doing our boxer mix, Reagan, a great disservice by keeping her to ourselves. When we got her we were both in college and had some time left and have been out for almost a year now. Between day to day work and travel for work Reagan has become very bored and I feel as if her quality of life has come to a screeching halt. She spends nearly all day by herself and when she does get to play and spend time with people and dogs it is too short lived. I think it would be selfish of me and it is becoming unhealthy for her to keep this pace. I found Reagan on Boxertown over two years ago. She had been abused and lost an eye and had severe cuts on her body. We were able to give her all the attention and love she could have ever wanted in the past two and half years and she is very healthy and well socialized. Most of the hours of the day she just wants someone to follow from room to room or cuddle with, but she is also very playful and loves to wrestle. She is amazing in the car and is very good with other dogs and she loves to give kisses. All my friends and family love her and think she is the sweetest thing and in my opinion she has the ability to show more human like emotion than any dog I have ever come in contact with. She is very smart and would make a family with older children (age 10+) or someone looking for a close companion very happy. Please call Stephen J. Schlesser in Atlanta, Georgia at 706-207-8896.

Boxer in Need: I found a stray boxer in my neighborhood two weeks ago, been unable to find his owners. He was not well taken care of with fleas so bad he was chewing himself, he was very skinny, and had sores. We have cleaned him up and is now free of fleas. He is very friendly with a clipped tail, fawn, and very young. I think he is about six monthes. He loves to play and makes me laugh all the time. He is potty trained and cage trained. Please email Nicole Rogers in Winder, Georgia: bwolf03@hotmail.com

Boxer in Need: As much I adore my dog it is time for him to go. I'm afraid that I will be going to college soon, leaving poor Taz with no where to go for 15 hours a day. He is a very happy 2 year old dog. He has not been trained. He has a brown coat, and eyes. His ears have not been cut but his tail has. Barks only at those he does not know, seems to not like men generally. Please call A.O.Harper at 404-259-0165 (just south of Atlanta).

A Happy Ending Ñ This boxer was rescued or adopted on July 20, 2008 . Thank you!
I have a female boxer that I have rescued from an abusive home. She had 5 puppies when I found her, but I have found homes for them. I am looking for someone to take her to find her a new home. She was very underweight when I found her, and I took her from her unfortunate situation. I am going to school to become a vet, so I don't have much money, but I have put a lot of weight back on her while she has been here with me. I have dewormed, dipped, and vaccinated her, so she is in good health now. She is around 1 year old, and she is a beautiful girl. She looks full blooded to me, and I think she would make a great companion for someone in need of a friend. She has a great disposition and gets along well with other dogs. I am sending some pictures of her before and now. As you can see she has gained most of her weight back, and she is going to be a beautiful dog when she gets her weight back. Please call Suzanne Howard in Chickamauga, Georgia (near Chattanooga, Tennessee) at 706-375-3094.

A Happy Ending Ñ This boxer was rescued or adopted on July 13, 2008 . Thank you!
This is Duke. He's a 3-year-old flashy fawn male boxer. Duke is intact and heartworm positive. He is currently at a shelter that will be euthanizing him on Tuesday unless he is picked up by Sunday afternoon. He is up-to-date on all his vaccines. He weighs about 50 lbs. He is incredibly cute and really sweet, too. I'm not sure if he's okay with cats, but I do think that he's okay with other dogs. I never say that a dog can be completley trusted with kids, but I believe that he has grown up with children. He's a great dog. This dog is a patient at the veterinary clinic I work for. Please call Stacey Barrett at 706-289-8775, visit Douglas County Animal Shelter at 1755 County Services Rd., Douglasville, Georgia 30134, or call the shelter at 770-942-5961.

There are two boxer/great dane mixes in need of a new home. Barlow: He is a black neutered male, on the left. He is about 75-80 lbs. He came to us very emaciated. He has just completed heart-worm treatment. He weighs about 20 lbs more now than he did in these first pictures. He is house-trained, crate trained, he knows sit and down. He absolutely loves chasing the tennis ball and will fetch all day if you keep throwing it. He also loves to play with other dogs! He is very sweet and affectionate. He will rub his head into you and climb into your lap and just want love! He is very playful outside, and also very calm in the house. He is good with cats and other dogs and kids. He will make some lucky person an awesome pet! Max: He is a fawn neutered male on the right. He is about 60-70 lbs. He is a very playful sweet boy! He is super calm in the house! Crate trained, house-trained, knows sit and down. He loves to play with other dogs and chase the tennis ball. He loves to give kisses! He is good with other dogs and kids, he hasn't met any cats yet.
